Marietta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. The last two months this place has been run by the Marx brothers. One waitress and help from the beer tender on Memorial Day. Not too crowded, but one waitress for eight tables. She did her best but this past Father’s Day was a disaster. First two waitresses for 8 tables. Help from bartender. We were a table of seven. One ordered the French dip. The waitress took a dip and food flew all over the floor. Sorry. We re out of the French dip ingredients. Ok how about the steak tip sandwich? Sorry, out of ingredients for that too. Ok how about a tavern Reuben? Yes we have ingredients for that. Another person ordered the Rachel Reuben. The rest of us had shrimp, chicken tenders or a burger. Every thing was ok until the sandwiches came out. There was just enough meat to fill an elf; no lettuce or onion and no sauerkraut or dressing. Asked the waitress for those two items as they were missing on both sandwiches. Dressing tasted like ketchup mixed with ranch. Not thousand island. Still no lettuce or onion. It was as if no one checked to see what came with the sandwich. If you are considering this place. Ask how many are on staff and if the cooking staff can read a menu. If there s many peop

Oh, Home Tavern. We wanted to love you. We really, truly did. Bless your hearts β€” but somebody in that building needs to hear this. Let’s start with the children’s drinks. No lids. None. Not a big deal at all! We just spent the entire evening in a low-grade panic watching open cups teeter near the edge of the table. Super fun. Very relaxing. Totally the dining experience we were hoping for. My wife β€” patient, gracious, the most easygoing woman you will ever meet β€” tried to order wine. Twice. TWICE she found something on your menu she liked, and twice she was told you were out. She ended up drinking water. In a tavern. I’m sure there’s a perfectly good reason for that and I just don’t understand it, so. She recovered her spirits and ordered the ground turkey burger with cranberry sauce β€” something she’s had before and genuinely loved. Fresh cranberries, bold spices, a burger that tasted like somebody actually cared. What arrived last night tasted like it had been aging quietly at the bottom of a commercial freezer since sometime around the Obama administration. Bland. Flavorless. And we’re fairly certain that was not ground turkey. That was beef. And not the good kind β€” not from

Great live music and a cool atmosphere, but Allison was the real highlight. Her attentive service and spot on recommendations made the whole night.

Never Again. Ordered 2 sandwiches online. The grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries and the meatball with tots. The chicken sandwich was the flat and salty. The meatball was good but small. Given the color of the tots and waffle fries, I feel that they were deep fried in motor oil plus they were cold. They also got the order wrong.
